My name is Motaz. That is my real name, not a stage name. A name that is Arabic for “proud." To no surprise, proud is exactly what I am of my music and all that I have humbly accomplished. I have actively been a singer/songwriter/producer for over 10 years and have no plans of slowing down. Growing up in the incomparable city of Portland, Oregon, I was blessed with the opportunity to be continuously surrounded by creativity, humility and diversity.
The first instrument I learned was drums at age thirteen. From that point forward, music has consumed my life. After learning guitar, piano, bass, vocals and how to produce my own music, there was no stopping me in my vigorous pursuit of chasing my dreams and becoming a household name in the music industry.
My songs have touched an array of genres from RnB to Hip-Hop, Soul, Pop and Blues. I truly believe that fans who pay money to see a show, deserve to see some sort of musicianship on the stage before them, and that is what I strive to bring to my performances, as I alternate between guitar, piano and drums.
In my time as an artist, my proudest moments include being recognized by the Mayor of Portland for my work, performing at the Portland Fashion Show in Pioneer Square, having my music be played at the Portland Trailblazers games and having my latest music video “16 Bars” being recognized globally and locally.
The glass is half-full in my career, and I am thrilled to see what this next year has in store for me as I am currently in San Diego, CA actively playing shows and putting out new music.
Thank you for taking the time to listen. Enjoy!
